Video: Second session with Tina – Working on the issue of Procrastination

In this new series, you can watch whole sessions of Bruno doing EFT with clients (who have previously agreed to have their sessions recorded for this purpose), so that you can get a sense of what an EFT session with him might be like.

In this second tapping session with Tina, we continue to address the issue of procrastination, this time around the issue of putting together a schedule and sticking to it.

Notice how we come up with specific events and/or mental images to tap on, and then the different related memories, aspects or layers of the onion that come up after each round.

In each round we are tapping on how each of those memories, aspects/layers of the onion feels when thinking about it now.

Notice also how, when it comes to procrastination, as I’ve mentioned in previous videos and articles, one of the reasons we tend to procrastinate is because there’s something about the task itself (the process of doing it) or the possible consequences of having done it that, on some level, feels like it’s unsafe and/or emotionally painful.

And often this is connected to previous memories that somehow share a similar theme, feeling or some other element that’s present in the current situation. It’s normal in EFT that when we start tapping on something, some of these memories start to come up during or after a round of tapping, and we can then decide whether we want to tap on them next or not.

With EFT we can diminish and/or release the unpleasant emotional reactions about the different associations we have to the task we are procrastinating on so that, then, it gets easier to do it.

Also notice how near the end of the session she spontaneously comes up with a different way she can go about putting together a schedule, that feels better suited to her needs and preferences.

I believe that another reason why we sometimes procrastinate is because there’s something about the task itself or the way we think we are supposed to go about doing it that is not a good fit for us. And if we change it or tweak it enough, it then feels easier to carry it out.

EFT can help us get these insights as we tap on the different layers of the onion that come up while we are tapping, and we diminish or release the unpleasant emotional charge around them.

Thank you very much, Tina, for volunteering to do these sessions with me!
